Alexandra-Maria-Lara
Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian actor and TV host. She is best known for her role as the lead in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was sixteen, she had been offered a variety of television roles which included the leading role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Alexandra's career has seen her work on a number of notable international and national projects. They include British biographical films like Control and The Dust of Time as in addition to the French history mini-series Napoleon. She also remained member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
